Sublease Available ASAP!
Just in case there are still some people out there looking for an apartment, I have a sublease available at Boardwalk Apartments. The move in date is August 10, or sometime ASAP after that. The apartment is a 4br/4bath with 3 female roommates, one of whom I lived with last year and is a great friend of mine. The apartments are great for students(it's about 5 minutes away from campus), but if you're looking for a nice all-inclusive apartment, I would recommend this one. I had some money issues come up and am not able to move into the apartment, so if anyone could contact me ASAP if interested, it would be greatly appreciated. You can email me your information and I will contact you immediately. Thanks again!

discrimination issues
have you seen or maybe even been in involved in a discriminatory action in or around the USF area? If so and you don't mind sharing I'd appreciate it. I am looking for examples of all kinds of discrimination, be it gender, race, orientation, size etc.
If you would please set the scene for me, what kind of discrimination, where the person was from, how it played out, and how it affected your life personally.
If you witnessed it did you do anything about? why/why not?

*also if you would give me your opinion whether you think the action came out of ignorance, heriditary, or maybe culture.*

If any of you would be so kindly to help me out *goes as part of a paper I'm writing, and you can be annonymous or you can give me a fake first and last name i don't mind. and if you dont want to put it here, you can email me at i3eware2qt4u@cs.com

I have a serious dilemma.

My financial aid for spring came in and my parents decided they really don't want to contribute much at all so I need advice on how to raise at least $10,000 . . legally. I want to look into scholarships but I'm not sure where to start. I used to always hear in high school how people paid their way through college with all these scholarships from old people and how no one ever applies for them, etc. WHERE ARE THEY? I see all of these scholarships for people on the USF website but almost all of them require community service, or what you've done as a leader in your community, etc etc. . I haven't done anything like that. .

also, can I apply for anymore loans? I always see all these loans certain banks and places are offering .. and I can't really tell which ones are good and which ones aren't. If necessary, I wouldn't mind going in debt for schooling, but I really don't want the interest rates to be so crazy I will be paying it off until I'm eighty.

It's too late to really start working now and only rely on that to cover me, so I realise that I need to look at the above two and if anyone could offer me any advice, I would gladly accept it.

Does anyone have an MLA handbook 6th edition they could let me borrow or if don't want to let me borrow, buy?

If you're going to sell it, obviously I'm looking to buy it for less than it is sold in a bookstore so . . anyone willing to be nice?

This is kind of an emergency.

I have a serious problem.

I stay at Magnolia apartments and the a/c stopped working today. It is beyond unbearable. I don't know what to do. Even walking around naked doesn't help.

I called Holly M and they told me to page the RA on duty so I did and the RA told me something about that I shouldn't keep the air at 50 because it "freezes over" or something like that, and that I should never put it below 65 or 70.

Even at 50 the rooms don't get too cold in the actual rooms; maybe kitchen is cooler, but not the rooms so this is why I even always have it at 50. I really don't know what to do. She talked about the people who come to fix it might just have the heat be on for a while until it unfreezes, but she didn't really tell me what I can do and it seems that if I'm not suffocated over the weekend . . no one will come fix it till Monday. .

Has anyone had this problem before or know what I should do? Should I turn the air all the way off? Should I turn on the heat to "unfeeze" it?

I am dying, if you know what I mean.

Does anyone know the number to Holly M?

I'm wondering if any of you know or have an idea how much the apartments around USF cost? I'm looking for an actual apartment with a kitchen and whatnot. I've seem some nearby that don't have kitchens or whatever and that's not what I'm looking for.

I don't want roommates so I want to know how much a 1 bedroom would cost, and if you know how much 2 bedroom would cost?

Judy Shepard comes to USF next week!!!
Judy Shepard
“The Legacy of Matthew Shepard”
October 6 at 7pm in the Special Events Center

Co-sponsored by PRIDE Alliance, the USF Council on Issues of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (CISOGI), and the Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association (GALA)

The brutal murder of 21 year-old college student Matthew Shepard shocked the world in 1998. In the wake of his death, his parents, Dennis and Judy Shepard, established a foundation dedicated to preventing anti-gay hate and to working toward equality for people of all sexual orientations. In 1999, Judy Shepard testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of the Hate Crimes Prevention Act. From the perspective of a mother, she speaks to audiences across the nation about what they can do as individuals and communities to make the world a more accepting place for everyone

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Have fun, but be SAFE!
I hope this site picks up a little. We don't want our wonderful hostess Jessica to be disappointed now.
I have a question, has anyone been to some of the newer/refurbished clubs in the area. I was wondering what the opininions were. I haven't been out clubbing in a while now. My favorte place used to be Chambers, which is now under new mgt, and has been redone. Anyone been? There is also The Vault in St. Pete, which looks cool(yes, in an old bank) and it's sister club in Tampa called TEMPLE. The last time I went out I was at Flirt in Ybor. Small club, dance music upstairs, but small dance space. Downstairs is a little bigger, but all Hip Hop. Chambers was ok a couple of years ago, but had been going downhill. Now it's been redone. Not sure the new name now. I know Jessica like Valentines too, but I myself did not. Way too smokey, and again small and rather dingey I thought.
Let me know what you think.
